Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson was born in Mexico to a family of musicians. Growing up, she listened to many traditional music as well as older boleros. Also, she listened to traditional romantic ballads and ranchero. Ana enjoys tangos and drama and opera. Ana began to learn how to sing and play music from an early age, along together with her mom. She was given more formal vocal training at the age of 16 old under the famous Mexican Tenor Flavio BECARRA. She furthered her training in music through the School of Music of Guadalajara University, then at the School of Sacred Music, Toluca. She performed at Guadalajara, Mexico City and various cities while a student and professional. When she moved to California in United States in 2000, she performed with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus before shifting to her home in the southern part of California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private occasions and is a part of Ensemble XXI in Redlands. Her passion for performing, music, as well as the arts keeps her involved in local activities both as an artist and educator. Ana is also a former member of Community Chorus of Redlands as in addition to members of the Inland Master Chorale and Performance Loft. Ana finds it a privilege to be able to bring to others her passion for traditional Latin American music. She hopes to inspire younger generations to preserve the traditions.
