Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers - was born on July 8, 1989 in Paris. As a young girl, she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she studied at The Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. As a young girl of six, she joined the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch in which she was taught classes on singing, acting, and dance. At the age of 10, Emma had taken part in many Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone is the film from 2001 adaptation from J.K. Rowling's bestselling book was filmed in 1999. Emma was discovered by casting agents via Emma's Oxford theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after the eight auditions that she'd been chosen for these roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's debut film appearance came with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. The film set records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales and became the top-grossing movie of 2001. The critics were impressed by the movie and its performances. The Daily Telegraph in Britain that is distributed widely, called her performance commendable. Emma received five nominations for her impressive performance. Later, she won the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actresses of a Film.
