Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig 21st September, 1983). 21 1982) is a well-known American actress. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV show and Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. After the divorce of her parents the actress left Worthington Ohio in order to settle with her family in Los Angeles. She landed her debut role in the film, Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time with finances. The actress was able to secure an Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as fifteen-year-old victim Martha Moxley in the television film Murder set in Greenwich. In 2004 Grace was selected to portray Shannon Rutherford in the television series Lost where she was the main cast member for the first two seasons. She was also awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared with the cast of the ensemble. Grace has worked with Tom Welling on The Fog in the year 2005, was looking to go to film. The role she played was Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken in 2008) on Suburban Girl as well as the Jane Austen Book Club. In 2008, she reprised the role Taken 2 (2013) and Taken 3 (2015). The actress also appeared in Alice in Malice in Wonderland which is the modern-day interpretation that the Lewis Carroll novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played Shannon's part on Lost for two additional episodes, which included the finale of the series. She was in 2013 for the sixth season of Californication. The actress plays Faith an actress in a group and as a muse to the stars, who catches the interest of Hank Moody played by David Duchovny. She is a member of the Gyllenhaal Family she's the daughter and older sister of the actor Jake Gyllenhaal. Her acting career started as an early teenager, as she was cast in minor parts in a few films directed that her father directed. She also worked with her brother on the 2001 famous film Donnie Darko. In 2002, she appeared as a character on Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. She also appeared in Mona Lisa Smile (2003). Gyllenhaal received praise from critics for her lead performances in Secretary (2002 the erotic romance drama) as well as Sherrybaby (606), both that earned her Golden Globe Award nods. She had numerous films that were commercially successful, including World Trade Center. However the role she played as Rachel Dawes that brought her greater attention for her performance in The Dark Knight (2008). She was nominated in the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress due to her part on the film Crazy Heart, (2009). In the following years, she starred in comedies and dramatic films: Nanny McPhee & the Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011 and Won't Back Down 2012. Other roles she has played include a Secret Service agent in the action-thriller White House Down (2013) as well as a singer in Frank (2014) and The title role in the drama The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). Gyllenhaal was the writer and director of her first film, The Lost Daughter in 2021. The psychological drama won Best Screenplay Award from the Venice International Film Festival. The film was also nominated for the Academy Award of Best Adapted Screenplay.
